    Hello Calvin Kirby,

We have a feature called AxCrypt key sharing.

You can use the AxCrypt key sharing feature to encrypt your file(s), then key shares the file with other recipients/employees/partner or key shared encrypted file to send/share the network/server.,  If they want to open the received encrypted file then we have to share the file password with them or the files should be key shared with receivers’ email addresses.

There is no need to share passwords in order to send or share files securely with others. AxCrypt has a key sharing feature letting you add recipients by email address, who when they receive the file can open it with their own AxCrypt password.

To see a quick instructional guide and  video explaining how to use key sharing https://axcrypt.net/information/guides/keyshare/, please view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUVWbmiEFSs

Please note: Recipients/Receiver needs to have an AxCrypt app. AxCrypt application and account is mandatory is open the encrypted files. Without AxCrypt app cannot open the file.

Is there a secure, browser-based decryption option? – Currently, AxCrypt doesn’t support a browser-based decryption option.

Should I be encouraging them to install AxCrypt Free just to access the files? – Yes, the recipient just needs a free AxCrypt ID and will be automatically invited via email if necessary. The invitation email contains instructions on how to view and edit the file.

If you have any queries/issues, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. We are happy to help you.

    Hello Dugover,

Yes, you can decrypt Axcrypt encrypted files on a different PC or mobile device. If you know the file password(which was used in the file encryption process) to decrypt/open the encrypted file. Otherwise, without file password, nobody to decrypt the encrypted file.

AxCrypt will allow the users to decrypt the encrypted file with the original password which is used for encryption.

If you have any queries/issues, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. We are happy to help you.

    Hello Richard Lenz,

We sincerely apologize for the issue that you are facing. We observed the registered complaint and found out that this happened due to added security norms in google cloud API side. The resolution to this comes costly to us at this point of time with the current application as we are working stringently on enhancing our application to newer frameworks for all platforms.

This has and will increase the app performance with an all new UI. We request you to hold back and allow us sometime while we release the new apps.

We already have a beta app (link) being tested by users currently. The google cloud API issue is already resolved in all our newer apps and we are not releasing any new versions on the existing apps as mentioned. AxCrypt is getting upgraded both performance and user interface-wise.

We thank you for being such a valuable customer and we assure you with resolution in the new upgraded app. Please write to us in case you need further assistance.

    Hello Dugover,

You can open/decrypt the previously encrypted document(1.x) with the latest version(2.x).

AxCrypt 1.x and 2.x are compatible in the sense that 2.x can open all files secured with 1.x. In addition to that, 2.x implements of lot of new rich features, while some functions of 1.x are deprecated. Files secured with AxCrypt 2.x are not possible to open with AxCrypt 1.x. You cannot have both AxCrypt 1.x and 2.x installed at the same time.

If you open files encrypted with a different password than your sign in password, which often is the case directly after upgrading to version 2, you will be prompted for that original password. If the file was encrypted with version 1, it will then be automatically upgraded to version 2 and to use the new sign in password which means you won’t be prompted again for the old password.

You can download the latest version(2.x) of the AxCrypt app from our official website: https://www.axcrypt.net/download/

Please check out our video tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoSoXBjq6iCG5232fHoWStA and our other documentation at https://www.axcrypt.net/information/guides/get-started/ to get started with AxCrypt.

If you are facing any Query/issues, Please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.
