Hello Chris,
Sorry to say, AxCrypt 2.x does not support different password for different files feature due to some security reasons. Please refer our blog for more info: https://www.axcrypt.net/support/blog/use-of-different-passwords-considered-harmful .
Hello Chris,
AxCrypt Secured Folder: — AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.
You can also select multiple files, including all files in a folder, to be secured in a single operation. They still remain individual files, and the folder itself is not secured, just the files in it.
If the file in fact is located in a folder designated as “Secured”, it will soon be re-encrypted again since those folders are monitored for unencrypted files and will encrypt them when you sign out, or click the “Broom” clean up icon.
AxCrypt 2 uses a more robust method for the automatic re-encryption, which sometimes means you as the user have to tell AxCrypt to do it. You’ll see this by the “broom” icon becoming red. This indicates there’s something in need of “clean up”, i.e. re-encryption.
Include Subfolders:
You can encrypt a folder by using Secured Folders option. After that if you create a subfolder, it won’t re-encrypt the files of subfolder.
We can include the sub-folder by enabling the feature from the AxCrypt app menu File | Options | Include Subfolders. By default Include Subfolders will be disabled. So Sub-folders are not encrypted without enabling this feature.
Incase the folder is not listed in the Secured Folder list, then you have to secure the folder again using the Add Secured Folder option from the right click content menu. Now you can click the broom icon. Now your files are encrypted.
Still, you are facing any query, please provide detailed information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net. We are happy to help you.

Hello Alan,
Now I need to sign into axcrypt prog before decrypting the file. Is this normal for offline usage? –it’s normal only. before decrypting the file you have to log in to the AxCrypt app.
The AxCrypt app will be monitoring the folder path, When we add a folder in the secured folders list. That’s why you are not able to eject the USB drive.
Monitoring the folder path is for re-encryption process.
Try to exit the AxCrypt app and then eject your USB drive. Now, you will not any exceptions when you eject the USB drive.

Hello Nico,
Please send complete information about the issue and some screenshot and the ReportSnapshot.txt file to support@axcrypt.net.
You can find the ReportSnapshot.txt in the(C:/Users/User Name/Appdata/local/AxCrypt (for windows)) to locate the AxCrypt local folder.
Hello Nico,
Please delete the folder (C:\Users\’User Name’\AppData\Local\AxCrypt) to clear the local cache and starts the AxCrypt app like a new.
Then uninstall the AxCrypt app and restart the system then install the latest version of the AxCrypt app You can download the same from our official website: https://www.axcrypt.net/download/ . (if already download, please ignore it).
Now install the AxCrypt app and try to start AxCrypting……
If the above doesn’t help, please provide more information about the issue and some screenshots and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.
Hello Nico Timmers,
Thanks for sharing report, This is not related to AxCrypt app issue. The problem is “Access Denied”. Please provide full access to the user then you will access the file. Please follow the blow link.
AxCrypt is a file encryption software and it requires a full write access to the path when encrypting/decrypting the files.
If the performing user account does not have the necessary access for the file path then AxCrypt app will throw the exception like what you are getting.
Please provide the necessary access(write access for the currently signed in user) to the file path and then try to run the application.
For more information, please check out the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2623670/access-denied-or-other-errors-when-you-access-or-work-with-files-and-f

Hello Mike,
Please You can make a video record about the issue and send it to our support team(support@axcrypt.net). We check the video and try to resolve the issue.
Also, please tell about – which operating system version and AxCrypt app version you are using?
Hello Stubby,
Please add AxCrypt software in antivirus whitelists. AxCrypt is just a file encryption software and it will secure users files if user requests. Otherwise, AxCrypt will not do anything with users data.

Hello Larry,
AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out. You can also select multiple files, including all files in a folder, to be secured in a single operation. They still remain individual files, and the folder itself is not secured, just the files .
If you are added the new file in a secured folder, then you have to click the “Broom icon” or sign-out from the AxCrypt app. now your newly added file is encrypted.
Please check once again enabled the option “include subfolder” or not. Please enabled the option. then decrypt your sub folder files. Now AxCrypt decrypt your files.
