    Hello chretien,

We will explain more about, what is the local mode?

You might be used your old AxCrypt password(which is different from the one that is exists in our account server) to sign in to the AxCrypt app.

If users used an old AxCrypt account password to sign in with the AxCrypt app, then the AxCrypt app will warn the user with local mode warning text.

You can also use the AxCrypt app in local mode. But the currently used sign in password will be used to encrypt the files. We do not suggest the users to use it in local mode, unless any special cases.

So, Please use your latest password to sign in with the AxCrypt app(internet enabled) without any issues.

Or   Please try to clear the AxCrypt local contents by using the AxCrypt file menu File | Options | Clear All Settings & Restart or clicking the switch user button in the sign in dialog

If the above doesn’t help, please provide more information about the issue and some screenshots and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello John,

Currently, there are no settings on an Android Device to start AxCrypt automatically when selecting an encrypted file *.axx

Sorry to say, AxCrypt does not support this feature.

    Hello Brian,

Please follow the below to change the status. Please check whether “Always Offline” option is checked in your app. (File | option| Always offline)

    1. If yes, please uncheck it. (It should be unchecked).
    2. Sign out from the app and Make sure you Exit from the application.
    3. Check the internet connection. You should be connected to internet to update your subscription details. At least once a week keep connecting       to internet to update your subscription details.
    4. Again open the app and login with credentials. Check for the issue.

AxCrypt app should be connected with internet to fetch the user account and subscription information from our API at-least one time when we start. If any problem to connect our server, then the AxCrypt app will automatically switched to offline state.

Please make sure that your firewall is not blocking our API request, if you are using any firewalls. Our domain in account.axcrypt.net or 83.168.228.93. If the mentioned domain or ip address was added in the firewall blocklist, try to remove and add it in whitelist.

If you uninstall and reinstall the app, the problem will resolve automatically – if you don’t have any other system issues or restrictions.

If the above doesn’t help, please provide more information about the issue and some screenshots and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello Dan,

If you select the file and right-click to choose AxCrypt then selected the Encrypt option to encrypt the files, AxCrypt knows that it’s a file – so AxCrypt show the bold font.

If you select the folder and right-click to choose AxCrypt then selected the Encrypt option, AxCrypt does not know that it’s a folder, AxCrypt encrypts the folder inside the files only – so Axcrypt shows the normal font.

AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.

If the above doesn’t help, please provide more information about the issue and some screenshots and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello Tom Brandeis,

When we encrypts a file, the AxCrypt app will create an exact duplicate copy of the encrypting file and then will the encrypt the same. Once the encryption completed, the original file will get secured deleted by the AxCrypt app.

AxCrypt used to take backup of each files when we are encrypting/decrypting and the backup will get securely deleted once the process completed successfully. So if the process was interrupted in between the process.

You can encrypt files/folder without any error(s) or corrupted. But you or any other system application(s) should not interrupt the AxCrypt app during Encryption/decryption process. If you or other third party applications will forcefully the stop the AxCrypt app during the process, then AxCrypt app will stop the process.

Still, you are facing any query, please provide detailed information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net. We are happy to help you.

    Hello Mach,

We do not offer the option to change the installation location. The reason is that too many users choose unsuitable locations, such as removable drives.

Sorry to say, AxCrypt doesn’t support the option to change the install location.

If you are asking any Query, please write us at support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello CH,

Currently, AxCrypt does not support automatic renames features.

We can hide the file names with random name, by using the Anonymous Rename feature. AxCrypt app having a feature called Anonymous Rename, This feature helps us to rename the selected encrypted files into random numbers(The original file name can’t be seen).

To rename the encrypted files to random: Use the menu option File | Anonymous Rename in the AxCrypt app and select the files. Now we can see the selected files renamed into random numbers.

We can also do the same from the windows explorer by select the folder or file(s) and choose the right click context menu options AxCrypt | Rename .

We can restore the renamed files into original name by decrypting those encrypted files or using the menu option File|Rename to Original in the AxCrypt app.

If you are asking any Query, please write us at support@axcrypt.net.
