    Hello Brad,

AxCrypt is a file encryption software and it requires a full write access to the path when encrypting/decrypting the files.

Please provide the necessary access(write access for the currently signed in user) to the file path and then try to run the application.

For more information, please check out the link : https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2623670/access-denied-or-other-errors-when-you-access-or-work-with-files-and-f

If the above doesn’t help, please write an email to our support team support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello Steven Sathue,

We are trying to re-recreate the issue with our local environment.

If you cleared the local cache files or use the switch user option your local cache files are deleted.

If local cache files delete, your previous settings are cleared. AxCrypt opens in new, due to using the above options.

Still, Our team is trying to re-create the issue in our local environment.

If you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello GilbertoC,

You can achieve the same. You can install and login(with the same Subscription account) to the AxCrypt app with the n number of devices. But If you are the only person is going to use, then you can use it. Otherwise you need to share your account password to all users who are all using the same account. Sometimes this leads to security breach.

    Hello GilbertoC,

You can achieve the same using AxCrypt app. You can be connected to the external USB/hard disk/drive to your system/laptop, then encrypt your files using AxCrypt app.

AxCrypt has a feature called Secured Folder which provides the convenience to the users, to secure more than one files in a single operation. You can encrypt the Drive/disk folder/file(S) using AxCrypt Secured folder features.

AxCrypt Secured Folder:  — AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.

Please check out our video tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoSoXBjq6iCG5232fHoWStA and our other documentation at https://www.axcrypt.net/information/get-started/ to get started with AxCrypt.

Still, if you are facing any issues, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello Dimare,

We will explain more about, what is the local mode?

You might be used your old AxCrypt password(which is different from the one that is exists in our account server) to sign in to the AxCrypt app.

If users used an old AxCrypt account password to sign in with the AxCrypt app, then the AxCrypt app will warn the user with local mode warning text(like you are getting).

You can also use the AxCrypt app in local mode. But the currently used sign in password will be used to encrypt the files. We do not suggest the users to use it in local mode, unless any special cases.

So, Please use your latest password to sign in with the AxCrypt app(internet enabled) without any issues.

    Or

Please try to clear the AxCrypt local contents via the AxCrypt file menu File | Options | Clear All Settings & Restart.

Still, if you are facing any issues, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello Jay Boatright,

I will explain AxCrypt how works.

AxCrypt 2 works just like your email software or most other password-protected systems. You sign in once and remain signed in until signed out. Just like you can read many emails without entering the password every time, AxCrypt will do the same. The files are still encrypted, but your password is remembered until you sign out of AxCrypt.

AxCrypt stays signed in until signed out, just like most similar applications such as your email. Once signed in, you can read, write and update information without having to re-enter the password, until signed out. AxCrypt will automatically sign out when the screen saver goes active(based on the Inactivity Sign Out configuration), or you can sign out manually.

You can use our Inactivity Sign Out feature, to sign out the AxCrypt app on certain time interval of inactivity. Also you can sign out the AxCrypt app, when opened the encrypted file(s). Now AxCrypt will ask the user to enter the sign in password to sign in to the AxCrypt app. For Inactivity Sign Out, File | Options | Inactivity Sign Out | Choose duration in minutes.

If somebody know your system password, so you can sign-out the AxCrypt app manually.

still, if you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello K W Hipps,

The location(C:\Users\’user name’\AppData\Local\AxCrypt) is for the temporary decrypted copies of the files. Those will either be cleaned automatically at the earliest opportunity or when you click the red clean “broom” icon in AxCrypt.

AxCrypt monitors the system for the launched app to exit, and when it detects this it will re-encrypt the file and wipe (overwrite) the decrypted file and then delete it.

Note: The temporary files will be removed as soon as the opened encrypted file closed/signed out from the AxCrypt app.

Please go to the original file location, you can open your files without any issue.

still, if you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello qwerty,

AxCrypt will allow the users to decrypt the encrypted file with the original password which is used for encryption.

If you think you almost know the password, we have simple software allowing you to try to find your password, and you can download the most recent version from https://account.axcrypt.net/Download/AxBruteForce.exe and read of how to use it at https://www.axcrypt.net/axcrypt-brute-force/. Please note that we cannot provide support beyond this.

So please try to remember the file password(which was used in the encryption process) to decrypt/open the old encrypted files.

still, if you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello Duvan,

AxCrypt will allow the users to decrypt the encrypted file with the original password which is used for encryption.

If the file was encrypted with a different password than your sign in password, then you have to enter the file password while viewing/decrypting the encrypted file.

While viewing the encrypted file (having different password than your sign in password), you have to enter the file password. If you enter the AxCrypt account password instead of file password. So you need to enter the file password.

    For example:

Try to encrypt a file with your AxCrypt password and then reset your AxCrypt account password using Reset Password Feature. Now if you open the encrypted file, you will be prompted for enter the file password (which is used for encryption of the file).

The above situation was happened for you. So please try to remember your file password(which is used for encryption) then try to decrypt the encrypted file.

So kindly try to remember your file password(which is used for encryption) then try to decrypt the encrypted file.

still, if you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello Volker,

As per your Error Message, this file is not an AxCrypt file format. Do you rename the file name?

Please rename the file name and try to open the same.

We have a feature called Try Broken File. You can able to decrypt the corrupted/damaged AxCrypt encrypted files by navigating the menu File | Options | enable Debug from the AxCrypt app.

Now you can able to see the Debug the menu in the AxCrypt app. From the debug menu you have to select Try Broken File.

Now you will be prompted for file selection. Select the corrupted encrypted file and then AxCrypt will try to decrypt the file. If successfully decrypted, then you are able to see the decrypted file in the location. Otherwise sorry to say, AxCrypt can’t decrypt that file.

still, if you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

    Hello John,

Do you have any screenshots? If yes, Please you can send a screenshot showing where the problem is, it often helps us understand.

Please check your system connected with internet or not? If not, please connect it first then try the same.

Check your internet connection now start the AxCrypt app and credentials. Now you are able to see the Premium status on the AxCrypt application title bar.

If the user’s system is not connected with an internet(offline state), then the AxCrypt app don’t know account/subscription updates/status. So you will need to sign in to the AxCrypt app with internet enabled.

still, if you are asking any Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.
