Hello Duvan,
AxCrypt will allow the users to decrypt the encrypted file with the original password which is used for encryption.
If the file was encrypted with a different password than your sign in password, then you have to enter the file password while viewing/decrypting the encrypted file.
While viewing the encrypted file (having different password than your sign in password), you have to enter the file password. If you enter the AxCrypt account password instead of file password. So you need to enter the file password.
For example:
Try to encrypt a file with your AxCrypt password and then reset your AxCrypt account password using Reset Password Feature. Now if you open the encrypted file, you will be prompted for enter the file password (which is used for encryption of the file).
The above situation was happened for you. So please try to remember your file password(which is used for encryption) then try to decrypt the encrypted file.
So kindly try to remember your file password(which is used for encryption) then try to decrypt the encrypted file.

We have a feature called Try Broken File. You can able to decrypt the corrupted/damaged AxCrypt encrypted files by navigating the menu File | Options | enable Debug from the AxCrypt app.
Now you can able to see the Debug the menu in the AxCrypt app. From the debug menu you have to select Try Broken File.
Now you will be prompted for file selection. Select the corrupted encrypted file and then AxCrypt will try to decrypt the file. If successfully decrypted, then you are able to see the decrypted file in the location. Otherwise sorry to say, AxCrypt can’t decrypt that file.

If someone knows your password but doesn’t have the encrypted file, there is no possibility to open the encrypted file.
or
If someone has your encrypted file but doesn’t know your password, there is no possibility to open the encrypted file.
If you encrypt the file/folders they can share/send the file with you recipients using AxCrypt key sharing Features. The recipient opens the encrypted file with their own password(if key shared applied).

AxCrypt 2 now use a single sign on model where the same password is used to sign in to our servers and to protect your files.
Sorry to say, AxCrypt 2.x does not support different password for different files feature due to some security reasons. Please refer our blog for more info: https://www.axcrypt.net/blog/use-of-different-passwords/.
AxCrypt will use the AxCrypt account password to encrypt/decrypt the files. The account password is used/involved to encrypt the files with the AxCrypt app.

Hello Marc,
AxCrypt 2 is working on windows 11 AMD processor. I think it’s not related to the AMD process, do you need to check the .net updates.
This might be because of problem with a dot net framework or some other third party applications are not allowing the AxCrypt app to run. Please check your operating system has any pending updates. If any, please update.
Please check whether your operating system has dot net framework 4.5 or above? If not please install the same. You can download the dot net framework here, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 .
Also Please try to check any firewall or antivirus software’s are blocking the AxCrypt app or not? If blocked, please add the AxCrypt app in the app’s whitelist. Then restart your system and install the AxCrypt app.
Then uninstall the AxCrypt app and restart the system then install the latest version of the AxCrypt app. You can download the same from our official website: https://www.axcrypt.net/download/. Now install the AxCrypt app and try to start AxCrypting……

Hello Nicole Lupien,
Still, the key sharing user info are stored temporarily in the local system. As per the new design, we replaced the unsharing users list with auto suggesting user(s) list on the text box. We released the first stage of redesign without auto suggession, Soon we will release the auto suggestion feature. For timebeing, please type the key sharing email address in the textbox. Soon we will release the complete redesign of key sharing feature.
