    Hello Steve,

You can achieve the same in the AxCrypt app.

You can encrypt the folder/file(S) using AxCrypt Secured folder features.

AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.

You can also select multiple files, including all files in a folder, to be secured in a single operation. They still remain individual files, and the folder itself is not secured, just the files in it.

AxCrypt is only limited by available hard disk space. If you have enough space, then you can encrypt the full drive. When encrypting bulk amount of files or larger files, AxCrypt will take some more time to finish the encryption/decryption. AxCrypt performs as much as faster based on the user’s system configuration and the file size.

We do have a some performance issues(when work with more than 10000 files) and we are working on the application improvement.

    Hello Mike,

Would I have to reauthorize each time I change a document? —- No need to reauthorize each time you change a document. (if key shared applied).

Until your premium subscription expires, your keys are in your file. if the premium subscription is expired, AxCrypt removes the keys.

If you are asking any other query, please provide more information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello ALAN LUNDSTROM,

Please avoid sending a same query in different mediums. You may get duplicate response.

Do you ask to copy the password feature in the password manager?  If yes, we have recently fixed the issue.

You can copy the password in the password manager feature. You click the copy clipboard button[screenshot attached] in the password box.

Now the password is copied. after that, you can paste the password anyplace.

we are checking with our local environment copy password feature is working fine.

still, if you have facing any issue, please write detailed information about the issue. we will investigate the issue and try to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

    Hello Serge,

If you are signed in the AxCrypt app, that time(file password and sign in the password are same) AxCrypt app opens the encrypted files without any password.

AxCrypt 2 works just like your email software or most other password-protected systems. You sign in once and remain signed in until signed out. Just like you can read many emails without entering the password every time, AxCrypt will do the same. The files are still encrypted, but your password is remembered until you sign out of AxCrypt.

AxCrypt stays signed in until signed out, just like most similar applications such as your email. Once signed in, you can read, write and update information without having to re-enter the password, until signed out. This is by design.

If you are asking any other query, please provide more information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello FrogBox IT,

Please note: If you know the file password(which was used in the file encryption process) to decrypt/open the encrypted file.

    Hello Alex,

What you mean by “Windows File Explorer will systematically display the file as a background page if Axcrypt is already connected.”

please write an email to support@axcrypt.net  with some more information about the issue. If you can send a screenshot showing where the problem is, it often helps us understand.

    Hello Wim Lozie sr,

AxCrypt is a file encryption software not a disk/drive encryption software. But you can encrypt the disk/drive folder/file(S) using AxCrypt Secured folder features.

You can be connected to the external hard disk/drive to your system/laptop, then encrypt your files using the AxCrypt app.

    AxCrypt Secured Folder:

AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.

You can also select multiple files, including all files in a folder, to be secured in a single operation. They still remain individual files, and the folder itself is not secured, just the files in it.

AxCrypt 2 uses a more robust method for the automatic re-encryption, which sometimes means you as the user have to tell AxCrypt to do it. You’ll see this by the “broom” icon becoming red. This indicates there’s something in need of “clean up”, i.e. re-encryption.

Please check out our video tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoSoXBjq6iCG5232fHoWStA and our other documentation at https://forum.axcrypt.net/information/get-started/ to get started with AxCrypt.

    Hello Chris,

No, way to allow another user to log in without removing all the settings.

Do you want to sign-in to the AxCrypt app with different email address/AxCrypt account? Please use the only option AxCrypt file menu File | Options | Clear All Settings & Restart or clicking the Reset button in the sign-in dialog.

Clear all settings and reset button or reset button is used to reset the AxCrypt account data in the locally installed AxCrypt app. That means, it will clear all the local contents cache of the AxCrypt app and restart the app like a freshly installed one.

still, you are facing any query, please provide more information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello Keith,

You are missing out on our Video tutorial. See our video tutorial below.

AxCrypt 2.x use a single sign on model where the same password is used to sign in to our servers and to protect your files.

AxCrypt is a file encryption software not a drive encryption software. But you can encrypt the Drive folder/file(S) using AxCrypt Secured folder features.

If the file in fact is located in a folder designated as “Secured”, it will soon be re-encrypted again since those folders are monitored for unencrypted files and will encrypt them when you sign out, or click the “Broom” clean up icon.

AxCrypt 2 uses a more robust method for the automatic re-encryption, which sometimes means you as the user have to tell AxCrypt to do it. You’ll see this by the “broom” icon becoming red. This indicates there’s something in need of “clean up”, i.e. re-encryption.

AxCrypt 2 comes with the newly improved and user-friendly user interface, account management(subscription information, password change and etc.) and more additional features.

Please check out our video tutorials at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoSoXBjq6iCG5232fHoWStA and our other documentation at https://forum.axcrypt.net/information/get-started/ to get started with AxCrypt.

still, you are facing any issue/query, please provide more information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

    Hello chris guth,

If you want to share the files with four members, you can key share the files for all members at a time.

Select the encrypted file–>Right click to select share keys option in the recent file->Key share windows will open- >Now enter the 4 member email id in one by one in add contact, after adding the 4 members then click the ok button.

Now You can send the encrypted file via email(Gmail, yahoo, etc..) to 4 memebers. If they want to open the received encrypted file then we have to share the file password with them or the files should be key shared with receivers’ email addresses.

I will explain about AxCrypt key sharing feature to share the encrypted file to other users.

There is no need to share passwords in order to send or share files securely with others.

AxCrypt has a key sharing feature letting you add recipients by email address, who when they receive the file can open it with their own AxCrypt password.

Key sharing embeds the shared key into the file. The file must thus first be key shared with the recipient, then sent or file sharing. Please note that AxCrypt does not share or send the actual file. To see a quick instructional video explaining how to use key sharing, please view https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z3KOZD-Yks .

still, you are facing any issue/query, please provide more information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.
