Hello Annee,
AxCrypt will allow the users to decrypt the encrypted file with the original password which is used for encryption.
If you think you almost know the password, we have simple software allowing you to try to find your password, and you can download the most recent version from https://account.axcrypt.net/Download/AxBruteForce.exe and read of how to use it at https://www.axcrypt.net/axcrypt-brute-force/ . Please note that we cannot provide support beyond this.
Unfortunately, if you do not know the password for an AxCrypt-encrypted file you cannot open it, even if you can sign in to the account. This is by design, it’s just this situation that AxCrypt is made for and it works like this even if you actually are the original owner of the file.
So please try to remember the file password(which was used in the encryption process) to decrypt/open the old encrypted files.
If you do not remember the password to your account, you can always reset it. This is not a way to recover encrypted files! It’s only to allow you to sign in to the AxCrypt app and web. The new password will be used to encrypt new files. Go to https://account.axcrypt.net/Home/PasswordReset to do this, or you can also go there from AxCrypt with File | Options | Password Reset.
For more info about Password Reset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6whtjSb3pc and https://www.axcrypt.net/blog/password-reset-and-axcrypt
A final note: Do not forget your password, or you will lose your encrypted file and always keep a backup of all your important files, encrypted or not.
If you are asking any Queries, please write us at support@axcrypt.net.

Hello xuangsang,
AxCrypt app does have a verify file functionality in the latest version. You can use the same to verify the file structure.
First, you have to enable debug menu to use the verify file functionality via File | Options | enable Debug.
Then use the Check File submenu from the Debug menu to verify the file structure.
You can also try the Try Broken File submenu from the Debug menu, to recover the corrupted file.
If the above doesn’t help, please provide more information about the issue and some screenshots and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.

Hello Matthew,
Thanks for sharing the error message.
This is not related to the AxCrypt app issue. The problem is “Access Denied”. Please provide full access to the user then you will access the file. Please follow the below link.
AxCrypt is a file encryption software and it requires full write access to the path when encrypting/decrypting the files.
Please provide the necessary access(write access for the currently signed-in user) to the file path and then try to encrypt/decrypt the files under the specified location.
We also found something in the internet to resolve the same,
https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp1203/mac ,
https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp1038/11.0/mac/11.0
https://community.firecore.com/t/an-error-occurred-access-denied-after-macos-catalina-update/18711,
Please check the above links and try to resolve the issue, if you are agree/ok with the solution. We do not guarantee about others support answers. But we are just helping the user to verify and resolve the issue.
If you are asking any Queries, please write us at support@axcrypt.net.
