    When I open the MacOS app (2.2.804.0) I get a message box saying Unexpected Error! Exception during process of ‘Access to the path ‘/Users/xyz/Google Drive/My AxCrypt’ is denied.’.

    How can I allow access to this folder?

    Hello Matthew,

    Thanks for sharing the error message.

    This is not related to the AxCrypt app issue. The problem is “Access Denied”. Please provide full access to the user then you will access the file. Please follow the below link.

    AxCrypt is a file encryption software and it requires full write access to the path when encrypting/decrypting the files.

    Please provide the necessary access(write access for the currently signed-in user) to the file path and then try to encrypt/decrypt the files under the specified location.

    Hi,

    I also have this problem (on a Mac, M1 chip). I have been securing files in the folders with no problem, for months. But now, suddenly, I’m getting this error.

    Has anyone else solved this problem on Mac? When I check the permissions, I can read and write to the folders in question. But somehow AxCrypt has lost the ability to access the folder because of permissions. Even though AxCrypt has had no problem in the exact same folders for months.

    As an application doing something to the folder, AxCrypt seems to no longer be associated with “me” as the user? It seems to now be associated with “staff” or “everyone”, the two other options in the permissions? I can play around with this to see if “staff” or “everyone” permissions change anything. But perhaps now I’m going to apparently have to manually change the permissions of “staff” or “everyone” for every folder that I want to encrypt the contents of? Not sure what the solution is.

    Also, I just tried to change the “staff” and “everyone” permissions but it has no effect. I also tried a different folder, just on the desktop, and it also didn’t matter. This is just a consistent issue and I can’t secure anything now.

    Also when I go into Privacy and Security -> Files and Folders -> AxCrypt, everything is enabled, yet to no effect. It also doesn’t work to enable full disk access. So this is Sonoma 14.5. Not sure if this is a larger issue or some small problem on my computer. But AxCrypt has fully lost the ability to secure anything. I of course also tried the obvious things like rebooting the computer.
