    Hello Roberson,

AxCrypt will allow the users to decrypt the encrypted file with the original password which is used for encryption.

If you think you almost know the password, we have simple software allowing you to try to find your password, and you can download the most recent version from https://account.axcrypt.net/Download/AxBruteForce.exe and read of how to use it at https://www.axcrypt.net/axcrypt-brute-force/. Please note that we cannot provide support beyond this.

Unfortunately, if you do not know the password for an AxCrypt-encrypted file you cannot open it, even if you can sign in to the account. This is by design, it’s just this situation that AxCrypt is made for and it works like this even if you actually are the original owner of the file.

So please try to remember the file password(which was used in the encryption process) to decrypt/open the old encrypted files.

If you do not remember the password to your account, you can always reset it. This is not a way to recover encrypted files! It’s only to allow you to sign in to the AxCrypt app and web. The new password will be used to encrypt new files. Go to https://account.axcrypt.net/Home/PasswordReset to do this, or you can also go there from AxCrypt with File | Options | Password Reset.

For more info about Password Reset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6whtjSb3pc and https://www.axcrypt.net/blog/password-reset-axcrypt/

A final note: Do not forget your password, or you will lose your encrypted file and always keep a backup of all your important files, encrypted or not.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact our support via  support@axcrypt.net.

What you need to do is get in touch with the authorities in your area and tell them to hunt down the hacker utilizing the money and the internet. You may do this by contacting the authorities in your area. It is possible that you might get in touch with the media in order to bring more attention to this issue.

Oof, that really sucks when you forget your password! I hope they find their password with the brute-force. Always make a backup, that’s the lesson!

Hello. I have been using Axcrypt (free) for many years. I just updated to version 3.0.0.37. When I try to open an Axcrypt previously encrypted file, a Welcome Back/Login window opens asking for my password. When I enter my password, I am told ‘Wrong Password’. However, I can log into my existing Axcrypt website account with my password. I am caught in a loop. :(

    Hello Dan M,

If you try to open a file that was encrypted with a different password than your AxCrypt sign-in password, first sign in to the AxCrypt app.

After signing in, click the encrypted file to open it. When prompted, type the file’s password into the File Password dialog.

If you have any queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. We are happy to help you.

It’s always frustrating when you forget a password, especially for something that holds important files. AxCrypt emphasizes the need to remember your encryption password, and unfortunately, if you can’t recall it, accessing your files becomes almost impossible. That said, if you’re looking for some entertainment while dealing with these tech issues, you might want to check out corgibet, which offers a fun way to take your mind off things. Just remember, whether it’s passwords or games, keeping backups and notes can save you a lot of trouble in the future!

If you’re dealing with AxCrypt and can’t remember your decryption password, it can be really frustrating. Unfortunately, there’s no way to access your encrypted files without that original password, as it’s designed to protect your data. You might want to check out this resource for more help: https://pistolo.edu.gr/ Remember that if you’re struggling to recall the password, there are some tools available, but they won’t guarantee success. Always keep backups and perhaps write down important passwords in a safe place to avoid this situation in the future. Keeping your data secure is essential!
