    Frédéric Caulier

    Hi

I use axcrypt since many times and i have now an Imac instead of pc.

I have problem with all my excel and word file on Mac

When i open a file without crypting it, i can modify and save it but if i open the same file encrypted, the file open in excel or word but “read only”

I can’t modify and save it (only save a copy which is placed in users/myname/.local/share/Axcrypt

The problem is only on MAC (On a PC that’s ok)

    Best regards

    Hello Frédéric,

We think, your files are not given full permission. Please check and give full access(write/read) for the files

AxCrypt is a file encryption software and it requires a full write access to the path when encrypting/decrypting the files.

Please provide the necessary access(write access for the currently signed in user) to the file path and then try to encrypt/decrypt the files under the specified location.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer.

My files have full permission and the problem is only with excel and word on mac (not with windows).

    Best regards

    Hi,

I’ve no error, i just can’t modify my excel file because it’s read only

    I identify a problem :
The file i want to open is like this : filename-xlsx.axx and located in my documents (property is correct : read and write)
When i open the file, excel open and i can see on top of it : read only
In excel when i do file/property, i see the file opened is located here : /Users/myname/.local/share/AxCrypt/mudc5nd0 and the file name is now filename.xlsx (without .axx) and is read only.
I don’t know why all excel files created in /Users/myname/.local/share/AxCrypt/ are read only

I hope that will help you

    Hello Frédéric,

When you start the AxCrypt app, the AxCrypt app to check the folder(C/Users/myname/.local/share/AxCrypt). at that time, the folder to check the permission of the above location. Please provide the necessary access(write access for the currently signed-in user) to the file path and then try to encrypt/decrypt the files under the specified location.

So please give the full permission in the above folder, and also check any third application to block the above folder.
