I occasionally have a largish file to encrypt so I am looking through a few options. After dismissing about 4 for diverse reasons I hit upon AxCrypt and it seems to be working well for me. At least I seem to be able to understand what is going on, which is saying a lot for someone over 70 but with about 30 years IT support experience in the past. Looking good so far.
