I have observed that Windows 10 stores copies of files encrypted by Axcrypt without any protection, as follows:

    AppData

    Local

    Axcrypt

    – xxxxx

    – yyyy

    Can this be avoided/fixed?

Try using the red broom in AxCrypt, when illuminated, to get rid of the temporary working files.

    Hello Richard,

This is integral to how AxCrypt works, so they must be there when you are working on them. They should be cleaned when you exit the application.

You can enable EFS (Encrypting File System) for the folder %localappdata%\AxCrypt if you wish.
