clean up required

Opening a secured file has become difficult. Have to double click on file required twice and then wait a minute. Says file needs a clean up.  How do I do that?

Hello, if AxCrypt is specifically saying the file needs a cleanup, I’d avoid deleting or moving anything manually until you know what it means. The forum post itself doesn’t include a response or instructions from AxCrypt support, so there isn’t a confirmed cleanup procedure there.

I think you should make a backup copy of the encrypted file, then check whether AxCrypt is fully updated and try opening the file from within AxCrypt rather than double-clicking it in Windows Explorer. If it still takes a minute and reports that cleanup is required, the exact AxCrypt version and the wording of the cleanup message would be important for determining the next step.
