I am using the free version of Axcrypt and have been for many years. I have decided that I’d like to use a new password for enrypting my files. However, I have found nowhere to do this – neither on the Axcrypt website nor in the app on my PC. I changed the password on the website, but apparently all I did was to change the way I login to the Axcrypt website, because now when I want to open an encrypted file, the new password doesn’t work. I can still open the files with the old password, which isn’t what I wanted, and when I do that I get a warning that I am using my old password and that I should change it to the new one. BUT HOW?

Any help somehow can give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Please try to clear the AxCrypt local contents by using the AxCrypt file menu File | Options | Clear All Settings & Restart or clicking the switch user button in the sign-in dialog

So, Please use your latest password to sign in with the AxCrypt app(internet enabled) without any issues.

If you are facing any issues/Queries, please write to Support@axcrypt.net. we are happy to help you.

Unfortunately, the described fix with the restart did not work. And I couldn’t figure out where the “switch users” button is during sign in, so I couldn’t try that.

Thanks for trying anyway. But it’s strange to have an encryption program that doesn’t let you change your password from time to time.
