Thanks. Version 3.x is the most recent, with an interface quite different from older versions.
Main lead for this version
AxCrypt 3.x has a known behaviour: when you double-click a second .axx file, Windows sends the request to the already-open instance, but the window doesn’t come to the foreground and the request is silently ignored or queued.
Try in order:
Check the taskbar and system tray after double-clicking the 2nd file — AxCrypt is probably there, flashing or not, without bringing itself to the foreground. Click on it to force it to display.
Open files from the AxCrypt interface rather than from Explorer:Launch AxCrypt
Use the Open button in the interface
Navigate to your file
Check the “Recent Files” tab — the first file may still be in an “open/monitored” state. AxCrypt will re-encrypt it when the associated application is closed, but in the meantime it sometimes monopolises the software’s attention.
