    Hello Peter,

AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.

You can also select multiple files, including all files in a folder, to be secured in a single operation. They still remain individual files, and the folder itself is not secured, just the files in it.

You can use AxCrypt to secure your folder. But you can able to see the file names, after securing the folder also. Because AxCrypt is a file encryption software.

If the folder is secured, then it will be visible to all the users(who are all having access in the servers). But they can’t able to get/access the encrypted file contents without knowing the file password(which was used in the file encryption).

You can download and use the AxCrypt application. A 30 day trial of AxCrypt Premium is included and you can start it at any time from the AxCrypt app. If you do not like to use AxCrypt, sorry to say check with some other encryption sollutions.

    Hello Laurence,

Try to uninstall and re-install the AxCrypt app again and try to do the same.

If this will not help, please provide more information or send a mail to support@axcrypt.net with the detailed information of the issue.

If you can send a screenshot showing where the problem is, it often helps us understand.

    Hello Richard,

AxCrypt application is required to decrypt/open the AxCrypt encrypted files. So install the AxCrypt app in your system and then decrypt your encrypted files using the file password(which was used in the file encryption).

After that if you do not want to use the AxCrypt application, then uninstall it. Be sure to decrypt all the AxCrypt encrypted documents before uninstalling the app.

    Hello Roland,

If the encrypted file is opened with some other application(s) or it’s pending for re-encryption, then only we will a “file is open in another application” alert dialog.

So please check whether the file is opened with some other applications or opened application is running in a background process?.

Actually AxCrypt 2 uses a more robust method for the automatic re-encryption, which sometimes means you as the user have to tell AxCrypt to do it. You’ll see this by the “broom” icon becoming red. This indicates there’s something in need of “clean up”, i.e. re-encryption.

If the above does not help, please write a mail to support@axcrypt.net with the detailed information about the issue.
