    Peter

Hello, we are just looking at installing AxCrypt on our work computers and have downloaded the trial to see if it can do what we need, I can’t seem to so far though!

We want to create a folder that sits on the server that is secure. By secure we mean that we want a password to be required to even open the folder and see the list of contents. I have managed to set it up so that by creating a secured folder it requires a password for each file contained within it but that is not quite enough.

The folder will itself be visible to most computers in the office (not all computers have access to that area of the server) but we then need the additional level of protection (for personal date about staff etc.). Is this possible with AxCrypt and does it need to be the subscription version?

    Thanks,

    Hello Peter,

AxCrypt secures files, individually. However, you can designate folders as ‘secured’. The folders will be monitored for new files, and AxCrypt will secure all new files with a single click, or when you sign out.

You can also select multiple files, including all files in a folder, to be secured in a single operation. They still remain individual files, and the folder itself is not secured, just the files in it.

You can use AxCrypt to secure your folder. But you can able to see the file names, after securing the folder also. Because AxCrypt is a file encryption software.

If the folder is secured, then it will be visible to all the users(who are all having access in the servers). But they can’t able to get/access the encrypted file contents without knowing the file password(which was used in the file encryption).

You can download and use the AxCrypt application. A 30 day trial of AxCrypt Premium is included and you can start it at any time from the AxCrypt app. If you do not like to use AxCrypt, sorry to say check with some other encryption sollutions.
