EDHello,
In “Information” –> “Usage Tips” section (https://www.axcrypt.net/information/usage-tips), we can read the following sentence:
- Developers can integrate AxCrypt by incorporating the .NET core library which has a programmatic API that is easy to use. Get the source code from bitbucket, or via nuget.
I don’t know how to use bitbucket and couldn’t find anything related to Axcrypt in Nuget.
Can someone give me more information on this feature as Axcrypt support was not able to give a correct and acceptable answer.
I just got a link to download all Axcrypt source code, which for me is not a “.NET core library which has a programmatic API that is easy to use”…
This feature has highly impacted my decision to go for a premium subscription that will not be renewed if it is just a misleading advertising.
Thank you.
EDHello,
Thank you for replying.
Here are a few more questions/remarks:
“We provided you with a .NET core library which has a programmatic API that we think is easy to use (at least compared to other encryption solutions). This is in the form of source code, which I don’t understand how it could be worse than some obfuscated package.”
–> For me, providing all source code is not an easy to use API
“I wonder if what you’re really asking for is how to use it with a package manager (like nuget), which as far as I can see wouldn’t make the actual usage of the code any easier.”
–> Yes, this is what I was waiting for reading the “outdated” text on your site. For future Axcrypt updates, this would be far easier for me to get package updates than asking you again for a link where I can download the complete Axcrypt code.
“The answer is that the text on the site is outdated, and we don’t offer the code through nuget anymore. We offer it upon request for now (we were recently forced to migrated to a new version control solution as Mercurial was deprecated on Bitbucket).”
–> Then I was actually right pointing out a “misleading advertising”
As for the answer from our support. The answer you got was correct. If it’s acceptable or not is of course up to you.”
–> I’m still considering the answer I got was not correct and not acceptable as I was not informed that the text on your site (which was the origin of my question) was oudated.
Anyway, can you provide me with a user guide (or at least some encrypt/decrypt examples) on how to use what you think is an “easy to use API” ?
Thank you
