Encrypted files will not open on Open command or double-clicking the file

Changed from AxCrypt-1.x to 2.x (free) but when double-click on an encrypted file or choose to Open from the right-click menu it is not opening but generates an error message, the Encrypt and Decrypt file commands work just fine. Any suggestions are welcome.

The error says “The system can’t find the specified path.”

We are checking with the local environment EmEditor using the AxCrypt app. AxCrypt app is working fine with EmEditor when opening the text file. (double click and right-click)

As per your screenshot Error message through EmEditor. The exceptions are not generated from the AxCrypt app(not sure). Still, we are trying to resolve this issue for you to use the AxCrypt app without any issues.

But still, we are recreate the issue
