I’ve been looking into the IT staff augmentation model  bringing external developers or engineers into a team temporarily to fill skill gaps, speed up delivery, or handle specific tasks.

On paper it sounds great: fast onboarding, no long hiring cycles, flexible scaling.

But I’m wondering how it works in practice.

I’ve used staff augmentation when my team needed extra hands quickly, and it worked well once roles were clearly defined. What helped me understand the model better was seeing how NEKLO structures it in their overview https://neklo.com/it-staff-augmentation-services  fast onboarding, focused responsibilities, and smooth alignment with the core team. After trying a similar setup, delivery became faster without adding chaos.
