    Dear Sirs,

I’ve got the following message from Internet and in fact *.axx has been classified as ransomware files.

How can this issue be fixed ?

    Thanks,

    Raymond Cheung

    Name:  AxCrypter
    Type:  Ransomware
    Short Description
The ransomware encrypts files with a strong cipher and asks a ransom for decryption in Italian.
    Symptoms
Files are encrypted with the .axx file extension and become inaccessible. A ransom note with instructions for paying the ransom shows as a text file.
    Distribution Method
Spam Emails, Email Attachments, File Sharing Networks

    Hello Raymond .

Please avoid sending a same query in different mediums. You may get duplicate response(s).

We are not creating any files with Ransomware file pattern. .axx is our default and only file extension.

All text editing, word/image processing, and more other softwares are having its own default extension.

For example:  Notepad’s default extension is.txt, Word’s default extension .docx and etc.

Like the same way, AxCrypt was developed.  AxCrypt encrypted files having the .axx file extension as per our design.

Also we need AxCrypt application to decrypt the AxCrypt encrypted files.

Only, for some very common file formats, most operating systems come with some form (often limited) of software pre-installed.

Unfortunately Operating system providers does not yet include AxCrypt with their operating systems.

So please add .axx file extension in your server whitelist.
