Bill HaughtonI have the problem wit Axcrypt disappearing from the context menu, but it seems to be different apps “fighting for position” on the context menu. When I first installed Axcrypt on each of my machines (about 8) it appeared just fine. But when I install other apps, some of them “displace” Axcrypt on context menu. For example, machine I am on right now has Avast and Carbonite installed, I believe when I installed Avast, it stepped on Axcrypt’s menu item.
I’m interested in whether others have seen the same.
Also, I’ve seen several comments about “only there for convenience.” Is the alternative using command line? Or is there a somewhat more elegant option?
Ank59Hello i thought i had the same problem when i saw it was on cloud files. The contextual menu appears only with local files.
Hello Ank59,
Sorry to hear this. Please explain more detailed information about the issue. Also Please explain which AxCrypt version do you have used? Please write an email to our support team support@axcrypt.net. we investigate and try to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Also Please you can send a screenshot showing where the problem is, it often helps us understand.
Eric CI’ve been corresponding with you in email regarding this exact same issue. You keep telling me to make sure I’m using the “Installer Version”, which it is (“AxCrypt-2.1.1692.0-Setup.exe” file from the Axcrypt website)….is there another type of “Windows Installer File” I’m not aware of? Here are my specs:
Windows Surface Pro 9
Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1265U 2.70 GHz
If the “right-click” will not work with my computer, please let me know. Thank you.
Hello Eric,
We have responded to your support email. Please check the same.
“Please avoid sending the same query in different mediums. You may get the duplicate response”
DanWhen I try to open any .axx encrypted files, I get this message:
“C:\User\dcopher\AppData\Local\AxCrpt\k5wmwbkc\(the file name with a .txt extension)”
has the wrong file name extension. It must be “.axx”!
Hello Dan,
AxCrypt secure your file and changed to .axx extension. If the files are having an “.axx” file extension, then the files are secured/encrypted with the AxCrypt app.
For example: your file name xyz.txt(original extension) after encryption your file name xyz.txt.axx(after encrypt using AxCrypt)”. but you are renamed wrongly the file extenstion like that.”xyz.txt”. So please change the proper file extension. Then open the encrypted file without any issue.
Still, if you are facing any Query/issues, please provide more information about the issue and write a mail to support@axcrypt.net.
