EricHi!
I’ve been using AxCrypt for a while now without problem but today, when I start it, it is asking me to enter my Email address in a little window with this message: “The first time you start AxCrypt a real email address is required”.
It is not the first time I use it. I did not enter any Email address and clicked ‘Exit’ button. I wanted to ask in this forum what to do before trying anything.
Do I just enter my Email address like if I was using it for the first time?
If I do will my encrypting/decrypting password still work?
Thanks.Hello Eric,
It’s hard to say exactly, but typically this happens if you’ve cleaned out all files in the Windows temp folder for example, or used the built-in ‘Clear All Settings and Exit’ function of AxCrypt.
You may also have created a new user on your Windows computer or something similar.
There should be no problem entering your email, and if you are online it will see that you already have an AxCrypt ID and then you just enter your regular password like before and you’re up and running again.
Roni use axcrypt for long time already. I encrypt many files and docs. I logged into axcrypt as normal. Turned computer off and then turned it back on.
Message shows
The first time you start axcrypt a real email adress is required. Click here for more information.
The only option is type in my email and then okay… or click the x and that basically closes axcrypt. There is no other option. Does anyone know why i have this issue?
Can anyone confirm i type in my email associated with axcrypt and then log in as usual and then open my documents as normal? I did clean my cookies and a few things recently. However if that is the case, why did i not have the issue the last 2 times or so when i started up my computer and get this message?
So just login as normal and its fine? Want to make sure first before i do this.
Hello Ron,
It is ok to enter the email address to sign in to the AxCrypt app with your AxCrypt account credentials.
It might be happened, when the AxCrypt local cache files(C:\Users\User name\AppData\Local\AxCrypt) removed from your pc/machine. Removal happened, when you clean the temp files with any other third party tools or used the AxCrypt app features Reset button in the sign in password dialog or File | Options | Clear All Settings & Restart.
No need to worry about this. Just open the AxCrypt app and enter your AxCrypt app credentials. This is a normal behavior.
Happy AxCrypting…..
