The AxCrypt story

The history of AxCrypt started in 2001 when Svante needed to share confidential data over the Internet and failed to find existing data security solutions for Internet services that were both simple and easy to use for everyone. It was then that he developed and released the first version of AxCrypt and shared it with others for free.

In 2014, AxCrypt had grown to be one of the world’s most popular encryption software with over 20 million downloads worldwide. After two years of hard work AxCrypt 2 was released on April 29, 2016.

Zebastian Victorin, our CEO and Co-founder

Zebastian is the CEO of AxCrypt and has founded the company alongside Svante. Zebastian is a serial entrepreneur with a special interest for high tech and has worked with software startups since he was 19 years old.

Svante Seleborg, our Principal Developer and Co-founder

Svante is the original author of AxCrypt since 2001. He still loves writing solid code after 35 years of doing so, and continues as the lead developer of AxCrypt as well as being co-founder. When off duty, he is an avid free-skier with a preference for steep couloirs and deep powder.
