Unable to open downloaded AxCrypt file:

I have just subscribed to the AxCrypt service. Now I’m trying to download it and have been able to but I’m unable to open to downloaded file. The message I get is: “AxCrypt-Mac-2.2.668.0 (2).pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Now, obviously I tried downloading it 3 times and got the same message each time. Does anyone have any recommendations?
