Encryption for external drives

Hi, I’d like to know if it’s possible to encrypt files on a pen drive say and then be able to access those files on someone else’s computer who doesn’t have AxCrypt installed?

I have not bought premium yet because… to answer your questions i believe you can install the self executing axcrypt version that does not need to be installed on the machine.  Copy to the same thumb drive as your encrypted files. and execute the program then decrypt…BUT.. whomever you give that thumb drive, to you must give them the master encryption code that you just used for all other encryption activity on your local machine..kinda defeats the purpose of encryption if you have to give that password out with every thumb drive you send to someone..  It does NOT appear that you can assign a different password for JUST the file or files on that portable media….If there is a moderator that can clarify this…I would but tomorrow…

In order to access encrypted file, some form of the AxCrypt software must be available. As mentioned, there is a stand-alone version that can be included on the thumb drive.

To decrypt a file, you also need access to an AxCrypt ID (key) that it has been shared with, or the original password it was encrypted with. The person encrypting the file can share the keys to the file using AxCrypt, without sharing any passwords. See https://forum.axcrypt.net/ for details and instructions.
